COMPETITION DESCRIPTION:
This time the challenge was to make something that had a plant life theme, after that it was open, be it one effect, an intro, a demo, whatever, as long as it contained computer simulated organic plant life, be it animation, growth or a rendered image of plants it was fine! We didn't get a load of entries, hwever the ones we got were very good!

Upwardly drifting flowerheads were what earned RBZ first place in this challenge.
There are many different types of flower head in this intro, all with nice subtle lighting, watch as they spin around and drift upwards.

You're looking down here.. Looking onto a pretty barren landscape, but in this Java demo there is new life.
Watch as a tremendously fast growing plant begins to colonise the surface.
It's a totally fantastic looking effect. Our first ever entry in Java too!

You will need a copy of PS2 Yabasic to run RainStorms entry, it's worth it though, this was written in Yabasic, an interpreted language with no graphics commands except very primative polygons.
There's such so much going on in this landscape, watch as night smoothly changes to day and the trees scroll by.
