COMPETITION WINNER! BUDDHABROT

AUTHOR:MIND POSITION:1ST DISCUSS:CLICK HERE DOWNLOAD:CLICK HERE DOWNLOADS:3402
The "Bhuddabrot" is a really nice way of rendering the Mandelbrot set, this will take a long time to render but the final result is really worth it. Mind has included a gui so that you can customise various aspects of the rendering. Changing the threshold to something high like 7000+ will make the ghostly image of the bhudda more visible!
COMPETITION WINNER! LAND

AUTHOR:OPTIMUS POSITION:2ND DISCUSS:CLICK HERE DOWNLOAD:CLICK HERE DOWNLOADS:3394
This nice program by Optimus terraforms a planet while you wait. Run the exe and it generates a procedural land texture before spheremapping it onto a virtual planet in a star filled sky. A different random landscape is mapped onto the sphere each time the program is run.
COMPETITION WINNER! FUR

AUTHOR:TAJ POSITION:3RD DISCUSS:CLICK HERE DOWNLOAD:CLICK HERE DOWNLOADS:3404
This effect will play havok with your eyes! A swirly furball swirls this way and that, and it is combined with a strange and very cool looking blur effect that rapidly swaps direction, yet seems to happen slowly! You have to see it to understand what it looks like. It's an interesting take on procedural image as the textures and object are created inside the program.
COMPETITION WINNER! 3D LAND

AUTHOR:SHOCKWAVE POSITION:3RD DISCUSS:CLICK HERE DOWNLOAD:CLICK HERE DOWNLOADS:3404
This program generates a height map at startup.
This height map is then rendered with polygons and coloured according to height, the camera moves around a little bit to make it slightly more interesting.
COMPETITION WINNER! MODERN ART

AUTHOR:SLINKS POSITION:4TH DISCUSS:CLICK HERE DOWNLOAD:CLICK HERE DOWNLOADS:3421
Technically, this entry is fairly simple programming because it just uses some basic sin and cos to generate the image. However it is also very imaginative and impressive how Slinks has used these techniques to paint a modern art picture in front of your very eyes. It is very entertaining to watch it creating a modern art masterpiece!
