COMPETITION DESCRIPTION:
This challenge had a seemingly crippling set of restrictions!
There were doubts about this challenge from some people in the admin team right from the start and we were not sure how well taken up this challenge would be.
The challenge was to use no more than 4 colours on screen at once and the other dimension was that the resolution was to be limited to a maximum of 160 * 120.
Entrants could choose either restriction or both. We need not have worried, lots and lots of people entered and rose to the challenge!
Nb. we have included 4th place here too because it was so damned good!

Hellfire uses some really clever trickery here to apparently simultaniously display orange and blue palette but you can paus the intro by clicking the window. It's not cheating!
Ripples contort across a wire grid, with stunning sync to music and radial blur, this is totally awesome and even saying that, it only *just* beat Xalthorn to 1st place!

Xalthorn paid homage to the Gameboy in style here.
This obeyed both resolution and colour restrictions of the challenge and only just lost out to Hellfire's entry by a very small margin!
It's cute, it has a great tune and is of a very, very high quality.

Hehe Shockwave seems to be doomed to third place these days.
A variety of things happening here in just 4 colours and 160*120
A real time calculated texture changes over time in the background, there are copperbars, a light sourced cube and even a scrolltext... All at once!

Praecor's demo sadly just missed third place.
This surely has to be the best demo ever entered into one of our chellenges not to end up with a podium place?
It is honoured here, Praecor made a great tribute to Giana Sisters.
If this had been entered more towards the beginning of the challenge so more people would have seen it, I would even say that this could have won!
